WHY DUPR?
Playing DUPR recorded matches is a great way to get a read on your true rating. You can use your rating to choose appropriate skill play events and to accurately register in tournaments.
DUPR is free and anyone can have a rating. One match result is all it takes to have a DUPR rating, and with 10-20 match results you will have an even more accurate rating.
DUPR works by rating the skill level of a pickleball player.
-
Novice: 2.00 - 2.99
-
Intermediate: 3.00 - 3.99
-
Advanced: 4.00 - 4.99
-
Professional: 5.00 - 8.00
DUPR scoring uses a dynamic algorithm that compares a player's actual match results to an "expected score" based on their opponent's rating. Your rating increases if you outperform the expectation and decreases if you underperform. Key factors include the win/loss record, the score margin, and the difference between your rating and your opponent's, with recent matches and tournament results carrying more weight.
