NEDDY VELEZ

With over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry, Neddy is a dynamic instructor and coach dedicated to helping individuals of all backgrounds reach their full potential through movement, strength, and education. She has trained clients in one-on-one settings as well as small and large group environments of 30+ participants, bringing high energy, expertise, and motivation to every session.

An accomplished athlete herself, Neddy has trained and competed in marathons, half marathons, 5ks, and triathlons, and continues to stay active through recreational basketball leagues around Chicago. Her athletic experience fuels her passion for coaching others - whether it's guiding high school and college athletes to perform their best, or supporting cardiac and stroke rehab patients on their journey back to wellness.

In addition to her fitness career, Neddy has experience as an EMT, which has deepened her understanding of health, the human body, and the importance of injury prevention through lifestyle. Today, she combines her background in emergency medicine and fitness to empower people of all ages to take control of their health. Her mission is simple: to help people help themselves through education, movement, and sustainable wellness habits that extend beyond the gym.  

Melissa is a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer committed to helping people build strength, energy, and confidence through movement. A former competitive tennis and track athlete, Melissa discovered her passion for fitness in her mid-20s after experiencing significant muscle and joint pain related to a connective tissue disorder—and learning firsthand the transformative power of strength training. She now channels that experience into creating supportive, inclusive workouts that balance challenge, fun, and long-term sustainability.

 

Melissa teaches across multiple studios and clubs in the Chicagoland area, where she’s known for her empathy, encouragement, and ability to adapt each session to meet clients where they are at. Her favorite classes to teach are heavy lifting and HIIT.

Outside the gym, Melissa enjoys bringing her tennis skills to the pickleball court, reading, catching live theater, watching scary movies, and spending time with her husband, son, and two husky mixes at their home in Oak Park.
